If you are selling globally, the EAN-13 format (13 numbers) is the recognized standard.

No. This tool only translates data you provide into a scannable graphic. If you are selling a product in major retail chains (like Walmart or Amazon), you must legally purchase your unique prefix blocks directly from GS1. You can then use this tool to print the graphical representations of those numbers.
