Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a limit to how many files I can merge?
Because the processing relies on your browser's local memory, there are no hard server caps. However, to prevent your browser tab from crashing, we generally recommend merging no more than 30-50 PDFs at a time, keeping the total combined file size under 100MB.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
No. For security reasons, the local rendering engine cannot decrypt password-locked files. You must unlock or remove the password protection from the individual PDFs before attempting to merge them.
Does merging PDFs reduce the file size?
No. Merging PDFs combines their exact data. If you merge a 5MB file and a 10MB file, the resulting document will be roughly 15MB. If you need to shrink the document after merging, you will need to run the final file through a dedicated PDF compressor.
